Abstract

Twenty potato varieties/cultivars were evaluated against black scurf disease under field conditions on 07-11-2011 in Plant Pathology Research Area, Ayub Agriculture Research Institute, Faisalabad. Experiment was conducted under Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). Out of these twenty varieties no immune variety was found. Highest eyes germination percentage was found in Cardinal (73 %) with minimum disease incidence (0.9%) and severity (1) while Desiree showed minimum percentage of eyes germination (27.30 %) with maximum disease incidence (70.50%) and severity (4.70). FD 74-28 (71.70 %), FD 74-51 (72.60 %), SL 1-4 (72.10 %) also showed high disease incidence. Cardinal was the Resistant variety and SL 1-4, SL 1-21, SL 5-2, FD 35-25, FD 74-51, FD 74-28, FD 78-51, FD 74-33, FD 76-48 was moderately resistant while SL 1-22, SL 3-21, FD 76-55, FD 73-75, FD 76-27, FD 74-40, SL 1-13 were moderately susceptible.
